home Poem List next poem Confrontational Politics Strategies of confrontation appear Disruption becomes a policy tack Aggression's final assertion to fear Attempting to move our history's track Away from natural identities To structure for which no record exists Into patterns of certain sanctities In which starkside contradiction persists Natural repulsion defines exchange By surrogate systems reflecting wills One time partners we see quickly estrange Movement once rapid is flipping thru stills Ponderous considerations occur Slowly fate betrays darkness and its keep Descriptions merge from a haze to a blur Then suddenly a conceptual leap Enters structured realms of agreement's choice Reason slips as logic's grasp seems fleeting Few would glimpse the future and then rejoice Chance would guess they fail at conflicts greeting Yet faith is our one unfailing factor Not that faith of the masses in their gods If fate sought aid there, gods never backed her We trust circuits, plows and kilns of fired sods (c)ERA 02:43 AM 2/9/03
