Hawks And Doves
Aggressive posturings for war grow dark
Leading us to search cauldrons of intent
Options offered by chance at best seem stark
Pleading to prevent sorrow when hell's bent

Laments echo like footsteps in a wake
When woeful reflections gently saunter
Down hallways to be remembered as fake
When flowers are removed lives grow gaunter

Plaintive shrills scratch across death's night of dreams
Screaming for peace knowing blood will splatter
Hope skulks sullenly, her wounded heart steams
Boiling in reason that does not matter

Some ways bring disaster within minutes
Which other ways can't pretend to resist
Imbalance results in one nation's fits
Imposed upon nations which will desist

Networks across decades watch their lights dim
Plans and plottings will be dashed asunder
While masters build their independent whim
Forcing regretable scenes of wonder

Towards that day's knowledge of safer times
When we would walk pondering in private
Past that chaos worlds offered in their crimes
Not concerned about other's caveat
