Trust Just Failed

Machines were built to advance perspectives
Laden with concern of functional views
Applied by teams of social detectives
To the problems of chattle in the pews

Greed set within participants for times
Those who volunteered to allocate doles
Mesmerized by piles of nickels and dimes
Red hearts turned black as help morphed into trolls

Portions of machines redirected work
Garnishing resources by tapping flows
Much like vampires other labors would shirk
While the field of victims passively grows

Control of assistance grew politics
Itself corrupted by carnal actions
Priests used to desecrate moral ethics
Fragmenting all church dissatisfactions

Organizational patrons of gloom
Intruded and insisted that their way
Would prevent futures constructed by gloom
By killing and burning throughout the day

Religious paths are polluted by blood
Splattered by swords where innocence was nailed
History lies face down in foreign mud
Where hope was stripped and trust just simply failed
