HOME* Main Poem Index* January Poem List* Next Poem Vain Gods Past echos caution not to attribute Failing enterprizes to any god This calls to question what we distribute When negative dysfunction seems too odd Excessive faith in god leads to breakdown Of religious fabrication of hope When prayed for helpers in struggle just drown Innundated by doubts in their grope Youth measures truth by gauging performance Actions in methods yielding real results Disasters replacing goals doubts enhance Gods become victims of logic's insults Oracles would reach far beyond for gold Beyond the bounds of common sense of math Building images through warmth where there's cold Embittering hope incurring fate's wrath Coops become subject to decisions Which could not otherwise arise in plights Because political imprecisions Induce religious wars from local fights Promised solutions more seldom than not Arrive at critical times in pew plans Incompetent weaves in which gods are caught Blame gods as false to cleanse oracle hands (c)ERA 04:15 pm 1/29/03
